01

Certified Bourbon Steward

This training is perfect for training staff at bars, liquor stores, and restaurants, or for bourbon/whisky clubs looking to deepen their knowledge.  Covers curriculum from the Stave and Thief Society, Louisville, KY, including basic bourbon history, the science behind distilling, and foundational tasting and sensory training.  There is an online test at the end of the course to receive your official CBS certification and Stave and Thief pin.

02

Bourbon History

You will walk (and taste) your way through bourbon's storied past in America.  Starting with rye whiskey of the Scot-Irish in western PA, we will trace bourbon's story from George Washington and the Whiskey Rebellion, to the whiskey rectification period in the 1800's, to the birth of "bourbon", through Prohibition in the early 1900's, and end at the craft bourbon boom of today.
